What did UFC star Conor McGregor say about his foot? Is he ready to fight again?

The former UFC champion got into a fight with Michael Chandler on X and and gave an update on his foot injury.

Conor McGregor has been quite active recently, attracting media attention during his holidays in Marbella, Spain, and while promoting the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s next event (BKFC), a company he partly owns.

The Notorious shared a lot of information about his future too and didn’t hesitate to send a few messages to other UFC colleagues and potential opponents, like Ilia Topuria.

He also talked about Michael Chandler, who was expected to be his rival on June 29 at UFC 303, as the American responded to one of the Irishman’s posts on X, where he’s seen training, and both fighters got into a fight on social media.

The Dublin native posted a video of him hitting a bag on the wall and tagged BKFC, and Chandler didn’t hesitate to comment it. “But show us the bare foot knuckles…”, he said.

McGregor responds to Chandler and gives foot update

McGregor was set to return to the cage on June 29, headlining UFC 303 with Chandler. However, two weeks before the fight, with the entire arena sold out and a huge hype surrounding the event, the UFC canceled a promotional press conference in Dublin.

Shortly after, McGregor revealed he had injured his foot and wouldn’t be able to get into the octagon with the American. He fractured the little toe on his left foot while training. The fight was postponed without an official date, although the Irishman revealed in Marbella he could return in December.

Fighters like Topuria or the lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, criticized McGregor for not fighting and canceling the event

“Hey bum beggar — the foot is fully healed,” McGregor posted in response to Chandler.

Both men were expected to fight each other last year when they were The Ultimate Fighter 31 coaches. However, the Irishman’s problems with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) prevented it from happening. And when everything seemed ready, McGregor got injured. Chandler will have to keep waiting.
