Following his strong showing against Novak Djokovic in Australia, one of the tennis world’s names to watch is Sebastian Korda. The 22-year-old American sailed through his first round match in Paris against countryman Mackenzie McDonald, winning in straight sets. But now the hard work is still left to do.

Korda’s round two opponent will be Austrian Sebastian Ofner, and should he get through that matchup, he will face the winner of Australian Jason Kubler and Italian clay-court specialist Fabio Fognini.

Once through his leg, which will be easier said than done, he will meet the winner of the other leg, which will likely be Greek world number five Stefanos Tsitsipas for the fourth round berth. This will be the biggest hurdle for Korda to leap.

Moving forward, the fifth round would see Korda face the steep side of the mountain, squaring off with world number one Carlos Alcaraz. Even if Alcaraz is knocked out, that leg contains players like Denis Shapalov, Alexander Shevchenko, and Cameron Norrie, none of whom are pushovers.

Beyond Alcaraz, awaits Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals. Like the Alcaraz matchup, there are still dangermen behind the Serb, should he get knocked out, players like Wawrinka, Hurkacz, Khachanov, and Rublev.

The semi finals and final are offer too many combinations to make a prediction at this distance, but suffice it to say, if Korda wants to get there, his challenges will all be in the first five rounds.
