Floyd Mayweather Jr. will momentarily step out of retirement and back into the boxing ring to go head-to-head with fellow American Don Moore in an exhibition fight on Saturday. On a hotel helipad, no less.

It’s the third exhibition bout for the boxing promoter, also known as “Money”, who first went up against kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018, then YouTuber Logan Paul in June last year.

Don Moore’s boxing record

Mayweather’s undefeated record is legendary, but what about that of Moore? The 42-year-old, nicknamed “Dangerous”, also has an unbeaten record which stands at 18-0-1, with 12 knockouts. However, he has not fought professionally since retiring in 2016 after beating DeShaun Williams via technical knockout.

The Indiana native began his pro boxing career in 1999, and fought in the featherweight division. Mayweather on the other hand has held titles in five: super featherweight, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight, and light middleweight.

Don Moore and Floyd Mayweather: Sparring partners

Moore and Mayweather are actually well acquainted with each other. Moore trained under the former champion’s uncle, Roger Mayweather, and also became sparring partners with Money himself.

The five-weight champion is favored to win over the relatively unknown Moore.

Floyd Mayweather will fight Don Moore in a special ring built on the Burj Al Arab Hotel helipad in Dubai on Saturday, May 14. The undercard is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. PT, while the main event is expected to start at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT.
