What is Drake’s UFC curse?

In addition to the NBA team Toronto Raptors, the famous Canadian rapper is also a passionate fan of mixed martial arts and often attends UFC events.

Canadian music superstar Drake is known as a big sports fan and someone who likes to bet on major sports events. In addition to supporting the Toronto Raptors, the famous rapper is also a passionate fan of mixed martial arts and regularly attends and bets on UFC events.

As part of the UFC event promotion and his own promotion, Drake’s bets on the outcomes of the MMA matches of the biggest stars often appear in the media.

What’s interesting is that Drake is almost always wrong. Most recently, before UFC 305, South African Drikus Du Plessis forced Israel Adesanya to submit in the fourth round.

“Big thanks to Drake,” Du Plessis smiled with satisfaction after the victory, clearly alluding to the fact that Drake put his money on Adesanya’s win – a total of $450,000!

Drake’s biggest betting flops

Here is a list of the most expensive mistakes made by the Canadian rapper Drake Graham:

  • Jorge Masvidal (UFC 272) – $275,000: Knocked out by Colby Covington
  • Justin Gage (UFC 274) – $427,000: Lost to Charles Oliveira
  • Jose Aldo (UFC 278) – $238,000: Lost to Merab Dvalishvili
  • Kamaru Usman (UFC 278) – $200,000: Lost to Lion Edwards
  • Charles Oliveira (UFC 280) – $2 million: Knocked out by Islam Makhachev
  • Israel Adesanya (UFC 281) – $2 million: Lost to Alex Pereira
  • Kamaru Usman (UFC 286) – $500,000: Lost to Lion Edwards (second time)
  • Jorge Masvidal (UFC 287) – $500,000: Lost to Gilbert Burns

In the past, Drake bet $400,000 on Tyron Woodley to win the boxing match against Jake Paul, but Paul knocked out Woodley.

Drake also made some successful predictions, such as Alex Pereira’s win over Jamal Hill at UFC 300, but the “Drake Curse” remains a consequential phenomenon in modern UFC. The UFC has not verified or officially announced all the amounts mentioned in the text.
