Some of the PGA’s usual suspects are chasing Wyndham Clark, who played exceptionally well on Thursday and Friday at 7-under par both days. That puts him at 14-under par and way out in front of the pack. The 2023 US Open winner is doing everything right from tee to green and will be tough to catch if he continues playing so flawlessly.

Matt Fitzpatrick was at the top of the leaderboard early Friday after figuring out an important issue with his swing, which has helped him find his best golf. He had been playing for almost a year with a weight in his driver grip that was inserted for training, “For whatever reason, I just forgot that it was ever in there. I took it to Titleist, they regripped it for me and they’re like, oh, ‘you know there’s a weight in there’. “I almost had a heart attack. As soon as it came out and I hit it the next day, it felt night and day,” he said.

The pack following Wyndham Clark include names like Xander Schauffele, Nick Taylor, Matt Fitzpatrick, Maverick McNealy and Scottie Scheffler. Excitement is guaranteed at a TPC Sawgrass course that can give low numbers and take back from players just as easily. We’ll see eagles and we’ll see double bogeys this weekend as players navigate their way around the 18 holes in Ponte Vedra beach, Florida.

Everyone’s favorite hole on the course, no. 17 has already given the fans some water balls and a hole-in-one on Thursday by Ryan Fox.
