The 2023 3M Open follows the same format as previous years, taking place at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn., featuring 156 players who qualify based on the PGA Tour’s eligibility criteria.

The tournament is a 72-hole competition, and the players are grouped into threesomes for the first two rounds, remaining paired together throughout those rounds. Tee times are scheduled in the morning and afternoon waves, with each threesome starting one round on the first tee and the other on the 10th tee to split the field evenly.

How many players make the cut at the 2023 3M Open?

After 36 holes, a cut is made, with the top 65 players and ties eligible to continue competing. The pairings and tee times for the third and fourth rounds are determined based on the players’ total scores after two and three rounds. The players with the highest scores go first, with the final group consisting of the two players with the lowest total score. In the last round, players are grouped in threesomes off both the first and 10th tees to expedite play before anticipated inclement weather.

The player with the lowest total score after 72 holes emerges as the winner and will receive the 2023 3M Open winner’s share of the purse. That’s $1.404 million to the winner out of a $7.8 million purse.

Additionally, the winning player earns 500 FedEx Cup points, and approximately 39.3 Official World Golf Ranking points.
