What is the cutline at the 2023 Travelers Championship? How many players will make the cut?
Day 2 at the Travelers Championship brings the pairing of the field. Let’s break down the cut line on Friday
The second round of the 2023 Travelers Championship began on Friday.
Denny McCarthy held a one-shot lead at the end of Thursday’s round with a score of ten under. Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley were tied for second, two shots behind, while Scottie Scheffler trailed by one shot. Eric Cole, Shane Lowry, and Chez Reavie completed the top five, one shot behind Scheffler.
The morning groups teed off at 6:45 a.m. ET, with the afternoon groups starting at 12 p.m. ET. The final cut line is expected to be determined around 5 p.m., although some participants will know they are not advancing after completing their round on the 18th hole.
How is the cut line determined?
The cut line at 36 holes will include the top 65 players plus those tied with them.
Projected cut line for the Travelers Championship
4:30 p.m. ET: The cut remains at -3, and 79 golfers are currently projected to make the cut.
2:40 p.m. ET: The cut remains at -3 with all remaining golfers still on the course. Currently, 76 golfers are projected to make the cut.
1:24 p.m. ET: The cut has moved to -3, and 69 golfers are projected to advance to the weekend.
12 p.m. ET: The cut is currently set at -2, with 83 golfers projected to make it to the weekend.
Who is not projected to make the cut?
4:30 p.m.: Homa improved to -3, Matsuyama to -5, and English to -4. Tommy Fleetwood, Hayden Buckley, and Brandon Wu all finished at -2. Kurt Kitayama finished at -1.
2:40 p.m.: Homa improved to -1 through six holes. Matsuyama improved to -3 through five holes, and English achieved the same score through eight holes.
1:24 p.m.: Jon Rahm finished the round with a score of one over, placing him at -2 after the second round. Homa gained a stroke in the first two holes and is now at +1. Harris English is at -2 through two holes, and Hideki Matsuyama is at -2 after the first hole.
12 p.m.: Max Homa is the most notable player projected to miss the cut, currently sitting at +2. He teed off at 12:50 p.m. Si Woo Kim is at +3 with one hole remaining and is unlikely to advance.
