What to watch on the 4th of July

The 4th of July is here and while many will be on the boat or beating the summer sun at the pool, there will be plenty of sports on for those who stay in.

By now you most likely have the charcoal ready, the hot dogs and hamburgers thawing out for the BBQ, the pool cleaned or the boat gassed up, and most likely all 10 fingers as the fireworks sit in the garage waiting to be the bell of the ball at tomorrow’s neighborhood block party. What you may not have is the entire sports schedule for the Fourth of July.

MLB

I understand that Independence Day isn’t the most TV worthy day of the year, but nothing is more American than knocking out a couple hot dogs and watching some baseball on the Fourth. There is a marathon of America’s past time starting from the time you finish breakfast when Cincinnati plays Washington in the Nation’s capital, leading you up to when it’s time to fire up the grill in the early afternoon. The onslaught continues into the evening and after the grand finale of the fireworks the Pirates and Dodgers will end the night in LA.
