The regular season has come to an end, and the FedEx Cup Playoffs have arrived. With three tournaments taking place in August, the FedEx St. Jude Championship commences the festivities this Thursday, followed by the BMW Championship, and the Tour Championship.

The best 125 players on the PGA Tour have left their tough days behind, as all who qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs are guaranteed their spot on Tour next year. Now, there’s another big motive on the line for these golfers: money.

A $75 million bonus cake for the PGA Tour players

With a $75 million bonus pool that was increased shortly after LIV Golf increased its purse to $405 million, the fight for a piece of the bonus cake begins.

The winner of the FedExCup for 2021-22 will earn $18 million, one of the richest individual prizes in all professional sports. And mind you, that’s excluding what players will be collecting along the way, at the St. Jude Championship and the BMW Championship.

How much are golf players making at the 2022 FedEx Cup?

So just how much money are we talking about? Here’s a quick overview:

Players who make it to the Tour Championship are guaranteed $500,000. Those who make it to the BMW Championship are guaranteed at least $175,000. Additionally, all those who finished in the top 125 are guaranteed at least $120,000. This is all of course in addition to what the first two tournaments themselves pay out, which we’ve laid out for our readers below:

Once at that point, players are given bonus strokes depending on their points so far. And while there is no prize money for having the lowest score at the Tour Championship, the massive total all players are guaranteed to make at the FedEx Cup is pretty generous:
