Despite her decision to retire at the end of the season, Danielle Collins is having one of her best years on the tour.

This year, Collins has defeated top-10 players Ons Jabeur, Maria Sakkari, and Elena Rybakina, and she has given current major winners Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka some of their hardest matches. Thoughts of her imminent retirement appear to have liberated her and she is progressing well at the French Open.

In her last match she beat fellow American Caroline Dolehide 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the next round, where she will now face the Serbian Olga Danilovic. They were due to play on Wednesday but outdoor play at Roland Garros was cancelled due to heavy rain in Paris.

When will Danielle Collins play Olga Danilovic?

Their postponed match will take place on Thursday, May 30 at 12:15pm (CET). For fans watching in the United States, that means a start time of 6:15am (ET) / 3:15am (PT)

As for Collins’ opponent, Danilovic’s best performance came when she clinched her first WTA Tour singles title in Moscow in 2018, defeating Anastasia Potapova in the final.

Collins has been in excellent form and will aim to progress deep in the competition in her final appearance at the French Open. A triumph in Paris would be a perfect farewell at the end of her professional career, having overcome struggles on previous overseas tours.

“In the beginning of my career, I had a hard time with the travel; I had a lot of stress around travel in general. As much as I did enjoy having new experiences, I think it was hard for me to get comfortable on the road,” she explained recently. “I’m an introverted extrovert; I’m someone that likes to be at home with my dog; with my family and friends, and being on the road 35 weeks out of the year was something that was really challenging.”
