Which team has won the most Presidents Cups? List of winners year by year
The United States golf team has dominated the international event, winning the last nine competitions. The event takes place biennially, just as a reminder.
The stage is set for the next chapter in the Presidents Cup at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, where the two squads prepare to clash for the coveted title. Among the season’s best, fans can look forward to seeing top players like recent Olympic champion Scottie Scheffler, Jason Day, Max Homa, Tom Kim, Xander Schauffele, and Christian Bezuidenhout lead their respective teams.
With Mike Weir at the helm, the International team is determined to rally behind their shared emblem — “The Shield” — to halt the United States’ more than two-decade-long winning streak.
On the other side, U.S. Captain Jim Furyk’s team is focused and driven, knowing that failure is not an option if they want to keep their historic streak intact. The looming challenge of avoiding the unwanted distinction of being the squad that finally falters weighs heavily on their minds. The event has been held 14 times, and the United States has a record of 12-1-1, and that’s the weight we are talking about.
However, the International team did put up a good fight in 2022 at Quail Hollow, falling 17.5-12.5.
