Who has broken the most rackets? Djokovic, Alcaraz, Federer, Nadal?

Alcaraz has been in the spotlight after smashing his racket during his game against Monfils in Cincinnati.

The US Open is getting closer and the world’s top tennis players are preparing for the season’s fourth and last major.

Carlos Alcaraz is one of them, although the Spaniard had to deal with some unexpected issues. The world No. 3 wanted to get ready and get used to the hard-court competition again in the Cincinnati Masters 1000, but his early exit against Gael Monfils didn’t allow him that.

The four-time Grand Slam event champion smashed his racket during the game against the veteran Frenchman as a sign of desperation and frustration, not being able to turn things around and break Monfil’s serve.

Alcaraz, Djokovic, Federer, Nadal... who has broken the most rackets?

Alcaraz usually enters plays and exits the court with a smile, which makes him a unique player on the tour. However, tennis fans who attended the Cincinnati Open to see the Murcia native’s debut saw a very different version of ‘Carlitos’.

He smashed his racket on the court up to four times. “It never happened before, because I could control those feelings. Today I couldn’t. I was feeling that I was not playing any kind of tennis. It was really frustrating for me. At some point, I didn’t want to be on the court anymore”, he said after the match.

However, Alcaraz, who apologized on his socials shortly after, has only broken one racket as a professional player. Regarding the ‘Big Three’, Novak Djokovic is the player who has smashed the most rackets, with 62.

The 20-time major champion Roger Federer, known for his complete game and elegance, broke a total of five rackets during his career, while another legend of the sport, Rafael Nadal, never smashed any.
