That year, Woods made history not only for becoming the Masters champion at that age but also for the way he ended up winning it. Woods finished the competition at 18-under par and was 12 strokes clear of his closest rival, his fellow countryman Tom Kite.
Woods went on to win the Masters five times, becoming the second player with the most victories in Augusta ever, only behind Jack Nicklaus, who won it six times. The Ohio native, contrary to Wood’s record, is the oldest golfer to emerge victorious in the event, at age 46. But Woods, at the same time, is also the second oldest golfer to win the tournament, which proves that Tiger has been playing at the highest level for a long time.
