Will the McGregor vs Chandler UFC fight take place at Las Vegas’ Sphere?

The 38-year-old fighter boosted the possibility his fight against ‘The Notorious’ has been rescheduled for September 14 in Vegas.

The 38-year-old fighter boosted the possibility his fight against ‘The Notorious’ has been rescheduled for September 14 in Vegas.

The UFC is preparing a historic card for their scheduled event in September. The company will take the show for the first time to Las Vegas’ Sphere. A night where MMA fans will live an unmatched event with some of the UFC’s biggest names, as the company’s president, Dana White, confirmed.

On the occasion of Mexico’s Independence Day, the promoter labeled the event as UFC Night. Although it is not yet known if it will be a numbered show (it should be UFC 306 in case it was), it has been confirmed it will be one of UFC’s yearly 14 pay-per-view events. With just two months left before the event, there are details to be confirmed, including the main fight.

Although due to deadlines and the company’s interest, Topuria or O’Malley would defend the title in that card against Max Holloway or Merab Dvalishvili, respectively, one of the company’s great faces has raised his hand and has slightly changed the predictions about the fights that will be seen on the night. Michael Chandler, the expected rival in Conor McGregor’s return, responded with a “Loading…” post to the rumors that suggest that the clash between the Irishman and the American will be held on September 14 at The Sphere.

Chandler in the gym, McGregor in the beach

At the moment, the least likely fight of the three seems to be the Topuria vs Holloway one due to a lack of understanding about the fight deadlines and conditions. In the case of O’Malley vs Dvalishvili, nothing is confirmed, although both have repeatedly mentioned September and The Sphere. If we look at the situation of McGregor vs Chandler, everything seems to point to the former double champ’s return in the last quarter of 2024.

While the UFC hasn’t made any statements, both fighters are living very different realities just a few months before their possible fight date. Conor, who a couple of days ago showed some images working out in the gym, republished some images of him and his family on vacation at the beach.

On the other hand, Chandler has continued his discipline and constant sacrifice, getting ready for the last 18 months. The American shows day after day his progress and determination to return to the octagon in the best possible shape, without trusting the image the Irishman offers online.
