Frankie Muniz ruled out of NASCAR race after freak accident
The star of Malcolm in the Middle and Agent Cody Banks made the switch to racing in 2021 and now competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Frankie Muniz, best known for his starring role in the hit sitcom ‘Malcolm in the Middle’, is taking an unplanned break from his second career as a professional racing driver.
The 39-year-old currently competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Reaume Brothers Racing but is going to have to take some time out. He revealed that a household accident has left him with a fractured wrist, forcing him to withdraw from upcoming races.
The incident did not occur on the racetrack but at Muniz’s own home. He announced on social media that he had suffered a distal radius fracture after falling from a ladder. The actor-turned-driver explained that he was attempting to change the batteries on a Ring security camera in his backyard when the mishap occurred.

The phrase “FML” (Frankie Muniz’s Life) takes on new meaning with moments like these," Muniz wrote on social media. “I’m disappointed to share that I won’t be racing at Darlington this weekend or for the next few weeks due to a distal radius fracture.”
He went on to describe the accident with self-deprecating humor: “Yesterday, I fell from the top of a ladder while changing the batteries in a Ring camera in my backyard. Note to self: heed the ladder warning that says, “Do not sit or stand on top step.”
Medical experts typically advise that recovery from such a fracture takes six to eight weeks, meaning Muniz could be sidelined for up to two months. During that time, he will miss several NASCAR Truck Series races, including this weekend’s event at Darlington Raceway.
Muniz, who has balanced his acting career with a passion for motorsports, will now turn his focus to healing before returning to the driver’s seat of his No. 33 Ford F-150.
