It’s one of the biggest weeks for racing lovers, as Formula 1 travels to Monaco in one of the most symbolic races in the world, and the Indy 500 takes place on the other side of the ocean, in Indianapolis.

The race, considered part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport along with the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco GP, is celebrating its 108th edition Sunday.

Changes at the 2024 Indy 500

Like last year, there have been some modifications to the rulebook for the IndyCar 2024, The dashed white line from the exit of Turn 4 to the pit entry will be officiated for Sunday’s race. Cars that have left-side tires past the dashed line will be penalized unless entering the pit lane, for incident avoidance or in an obvious attempt to avoid a closed pit lane and return to the racetrack.

EM Motorsports light panels positioned around the track will illuminate all flag conditions, including green. As for the restart procedure, the 2024 restart line designated in the last corner will not be implemented at the 500. As in previous years, cars may begin racing (including passing) at the declaration of a green condition.

Scott Dixon and Hélio Castroneves were the fastest drivers in Friday’s Carb Day practice but will start down the order in Row 7 on the starting grid with the six fastest qualifiers: Scott McLaughlin, Will Power and Josef Newgarden with Alexander Rossi, Lyle Larson and Santiago Ferrucci in the first two rows.

How much are the 2024 Indy 500 series tickets?

While tickets for the Monaco GP are quite expensive, the ones to witness the Indy 500 are more affordable although many sections of the speedway sell out quick.

Fans can enjoy one of the greatest spectacles in racing with a general admission ticket starting at $50, according to stuhub.com.

A Snake Pit wristband ticket, one of the race’s long-standing customs, is priced at $85, but all Snake Pit attendees must be over 18 and must also hold a valid Indy 500 Race Day GA ticket ($50). A Snake Pit VIP wristband costs $230. The music lineup this year is headlined by DJ/producer Excision and includes global electronic music artists such as Dom Dolla, Gryffin, Sullivan King and Timmy Trumpet.

The cheapest Vistas tickets are $75 with reserved seats starting from $105. For those who want to enjoy the race from the uppermost level of the stand and have some of the best views of the pits, their place is the Paddock Press Penthouse. The cheapest one could be found for $270, while the most expensive ticket was over $707 but currently all tickets for that area have sold out.

The most expensive tickets at this year’s Indy 500 are for the Hulman Terrace Suites, right next to the iconic Turn 4 which start from $1,500 and include VIP parking, club access, open bar and unrestricted views from the first row. However, these very limited tickets have already sold out.
