This is Kelly Piquet: Meet F1 driver Max Verstappen’s long-time girlfriend
Verstappen is a Belgian-Dutch racing driver and the 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Formula One World Champion.
Max Verstappen and the rest of the Formula 1 travelling circus is in Miami this week. The 2025 season is just underway and the driver from the Netherlands has some good news, but this time off the track. His long-time partner Kelly Piquet has just given birth to their daughter Lily ahead of the 2025 F1 Grand Prix in Miami.
Who is Kelly Piquet?
Kelly Piquet is a model, columnist, blogger and PR agent. She was born in Germany, but spent most of her childhood in the south of France before moving to Brazil when she was 12 years old. She attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York, where she majored in International Relations with minors in Political Science and Economics.
The motorsport connection
For several years, Kelly was a professional motorsport blogger and columnist and also managed the social media and article writing department for the official Formula E website. She is also the daughter of three-time Formula 1 World Champion Nelson Piquet.
The Formula 1 connection doesn’t end there with Kelly going out with former driver Russian Daniil Kvyat and the couple having a daughter, Penelope together.
Her relationship with Verstappen
The two began dating at the end of 2020. Kelly has been present at all the major moments in Verstappen’s recent racing career, including his three Formula 1 championships.
