In the previous racing season, the promising British driver secured his team’s sole triumph and pole position, despite being paired with the highly decorated seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton. However, as the current season unfolds, the driver seems to be encountering some difficulties, languishing in sixth place in the drivers’ standings and trailing Hamilton by a considerable 49-point gap.

Shovlin’s opinion of Russell’s potential remained unchanged. “George is an amazing professional. He works very hard. I am sure that he is one of those who I have no doubt will win the title at some point,” said Shovlin.

The engineer responded when asked about his contentment with the automobile’s functionality throughout the current season. “We didn’t have a great start to the season, but I think it’s better now. For example, in Barcelona, we looked great. The problem is that you don’t adapt the car to one track, but it should be good on all of them. We are working, and we will do everything to get closer to Red Bull,” Shovlin pointed out.

According to the latest odds released by FanDuel Sportsbook for the 2023 season of F1, George Russell is currently at +1400.

The Formula 1 championship is currently on hiatus, with the subsequent race slated to occur in the Netherlands. This temporary pause in the competition allows drivers and teams to regroup and prepare for the upcoming race, which promises to be thrilling for fans and spectators alike. Stay tuned for further updates and developments in Formula 1 racing.
