What is Max Verstappen’s net worth? Four-time F1 champion’s estimated wealth
Vestappen clinched yet another Formula 1 title on Sunday, finishing ahead of Lando Norris to take an unassailable championship lead.
Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen secured the fourth World Drivers’ Championship of his career on Sunday - a feat that will surely serve to further cement his status as one of sport’s highest-paid stars.
Verstappen beats Norris in Las Vegas to claim F1 title
Needing to finish ahead of title rival Lando Norris to clinch the 2024 championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver took fifth place in Nevada, one ahead of the McLaren driver. That result leaves Verstappen with a 63-point advantage over Norris in the 2024 standings, with only 60 points still up for grabs on the two remaining weekends of the F1 season.
All four of Verstappen’s F1 championships have come in successive seasons, since the Dutchman claimed his maiden title in 2021. “To stand here as a four-time world champion is something I never thought was possible,” the 27-year-old told reporters post-race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit.
How much is Verstappen worth?
Verstappen’s net worth, which chiefly comes from his Red Bull salary and endorsements, is widely estimated to be about $210 million. He is the top-earning driver in F1, with a reported $70 million annual salary. He also has sponsorship deals with brands such as the Dutch brewing company Heineken.
In May, Forbes magazine named Verstappen as the 17th-highest-paid sportsperson in the world, with overall annual earnings of $81 million.
Where is Verstappen now on the all-time F1 leaderboard?
Having clinched the fourth F1 title of his career, Verstappen is now joint-fourth on the list of the competition’s most decorated drivers, alongside Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel. He is three behind F1’s two most successful individuals, Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, who have seven titles each.
Verstappen is one of only five drivers in F1 history to win four or more championships in successive seasons. Schumacher holds the record for the longest title-winning streak, having lifted the title five times in a row between 2000 and 2004.
