WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM ORLANDO!!!

Western Conference Standings
The Spurs started the season hot, but have dropped down the standings in the early part of the season. At 14-6 they are in 4th in the West, behind the Rockets and the Lakers who have five losses while the Thunder remain nearly perfect with a record of 21-1. The Spurs want to be in the top three teams once the regular season comes to a close and you wouldn’t be surprised if they are there with the way this team is playing even without Wemby.

Eastern Conference Standings
After getting off to a horrendous start to the season, the Magic have course corrected wining 12 of their last 16 games. That leaves them in 5th place in the Eastern Conference They are just a game behind the 2nd place Raptors who have seven losses while the Magic have 8, but it’s the Pistons who are in pole position in the East at 17-4.
Magic star watch
While Banchero might be the engine that keeps this team running, it’s Franz Wagner who is the leading scorer of this team. He had 25 points against the Bulls and has been carrying the load for the Magic over the last few weeks. He’s averaging 22.9 points a game with 6.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists this year, and tonight the Magic are going to need him to pull extra weight as the Spurs come rolling into town.
Spurs star watch
With Wemby and Stepon Castle out that means it’s going to be up to De’Aaron Fox to carry the load. He’s had a few big games since Wemby went down, scoring 37 against Portland and 29 last game against Memphis. He’s averaging 24.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists this season and is quickly becoming the sidekick that will take some pressure off of the shoulders of Wemby.
Banchero nearing return?
Paolo Banchero has been ruled out once again as he continues to recover from a groin injury. He suffered the injury in Mid November in a game against the New York Knicks and has remained on the sideline since. According to coach Jahmal Mosley Banchero is doing a lot of non contact things but still needs some time to heal his injured groin that is getting close to healing.
Wemby still sidelined
Tonight will be the ninth straight game that Victor Wembanyama has missed since sustaining a calf injury. The Spurs are 6-2 without Wemby which is a good sign, but they would prefer to have their super star on the floor to continue to developing and building chemistry with his teammates after his last season was cut short with a blood clot. Stephon Castle has also been ruled out of tonight’s second game of a back to back.
Magic last game
The Magic rattled off their third straight, and sixth in seven games thanks to a 40 point fourth quarter that was fueled by Desmond Bane’s 37 points. He had 18 of the 37 in the fourth quarter to lead Orlando to the win in a game that the Magic trailed by 15 in the 3rd quarter. Orlando got hot in the fourth quarter following Bane’s lead and held ff the Chicago Bulls for their third straight win.
Spurs last game
The Spurs came home for a quick home stand against the Memphis Grizzlies and it was tight until the very end. No team lead by more than 7 points in the game, and it was the Spurs who would pull ahead and stay ahead in the final minutes of the game. Harrison Barnes posted 31 points to lead the Spurs. De’Araron Fox posted another 29 points as San Antonio went on a 16-6 run to close out the Grizzlies.
We are live from Orlando
Hello everyone and welcome to Orlando where the Magic are back home having won their last three and six of their last seven. They have been without their superstar Paolo Banchero for a while, but they are more than keeping their heads above water and tonight they look to make it six straight. The Spurs are back on the road after a short home stint against the Memphis Grizzlies. It’s been a couple weeks since Wemby went down but the Spurs are learning to win without their superstar which will only make them stronger once Wemby is back.
