Cowboys vs Chiefs Thanksgiving Day game LIVE!
Cowboys defeat Chiefs 31-28 in Thanksgiving thriller
The Cowboys’ 31–28 Thanksgiving win over the Chiefs was more like a playoff teaser than a regular-season game.
Dak Prescott bounced back from an early interception to throw for 320 yards and two touchdowns, spreading the ball around with calm, late-game precision. His favorite target, CeeDee Lamb, was unstoppable again, finishing with 112 yards and a score on seven catches, while George Pickens added 88 yards and one physics-defying hurdle that left AT&T Stadium buzzing.
On the ground, Dallas built its advantage. The Cowboys out-rushed Kansas City 137 to 119, with Javonte Williams’ 59 tough yards and Malik Davis’ explosive 43-yard touchdown burst keeping the Chiefs’ defense off balance all afternoon.
Patrick Mahomes put on his own Thanksgiving showcase, throwing four touchdowns and 261 yards without a turnover. He leaned heavily on Rashee Rice, who carved up Dallas for 92 yards and two TDs, while Travis Kelce chipped in 45 yards and a fourth-down touchdown that felt like classic Chiefs magic. But Dallas rattled Mahomes just enough, sacking him three times and forcing Kansas City into drive-killing penalties at the worst moments.
The fourth quarter became a trade-off of momentum swings. After Mahomes cut the Chiefs' deficit to 31–28 with a dart to Hollywood Brown, Prescott marched back with the composure of a quarterback who’d already thrown for over 300 yards on the day. Pickens added a clutch third-down grab to allow Dallas to run down the clock and grab the W.
And in true Thanksgiving fashion, the win came wrapped in one of the NFL’s most beloved traditions: the John Madden Thanksgiving celebration, born from Madden’s old “Turkey Leg Award” that he started in the late ’80s. Today it lives on as the Madden Thanksgiving MVP, and after throwing for 320 yards, Dak Prescott took home this year’s honor along with the symbolic turkey-leg spotlight that has become a staple of the holiday’s football festivities.
NEXT UP
The Cowboys’ next game is a road trip as they travel to face Detroit Lions on Thursday, December 4, 2025. With the momentum from beating Kansas City, Dallas re-enters the playoff conversation. The win gives them a boost, improves their outlook, and puts pressure on them to string together a few more wins down the stretch to stay in Wild-Card contention.
For Kansas City, the loss stings, but their season isn’t over. They still have games left against teams like Houston Texans (Week 14) and Los Angeles Chargers (Week 15), which are two of the biggest opportunities left on their schedule. Despite dropping this game, the Chiefs remain “alive” in the playoff picture. Their path is more precarious now. They must win out (or nearly) and hope for favorable outcomes among other Wild-Card hopefuls.
John Madden MVP award goes to Dak Prescott!

The Chiefs are now in scoring position at 3rd and goal on the 4-yard line. A touchdown will out them ahead by a point, and a field goal would leave them behind by 3.

Wearing a pin with the number 94, Post Malone honored Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who took his own life earlier this month. He gave a shoutout to Kneeland at the end of his performance, as he expressed how mush he loves the city of Dallas, the Cowboys team, and "number 94".
Getting a lot of country Posty for this halftime show
Post a long-time Cowboys fan
Post Malone’s halftime performance is especially meaningful as a Texas native and lifelong Cowboys fan whose father once worked for the team. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones even shared that Post spent four or five years of his childhood sleeping on a cot inside Texas Stadium while his dad worked late nights, just another reason Post has such a deep connection to the franchise.
Post says it’s an honor to take part in the iconic holiday tradition. His performance joins a long list of major artists who have taken the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving stage, but this year’s show is uniquely personal. Meanwhile, Post’s Nashville bar, Posty’s, will offer free meals to on-duty first responders throughout Thanksgiving week.

The legendary John Madden made this dish an NFL Thanksgiving tradition that players are now obsessed with. Here's what it is and how it came to be.
Now here's an interesting question.
Today's game pits two of the NFL’s most polarizing franchises and modern dynasties against each other. Dallas still carries the “America’s Team”label from the 1970s, but Kansas City’s recent success with Patrick Mahomes, including seven straight AFC title games and three Super Bowls, may have shifted that title. The Cowboys haven't reached an NFC Championship since 1995. It’s a symbolic showdown of old dynasty vs new, staged fittingly at AT&T Stadium.
CeeDee Lamb just needs to catch the f***ing ball! His words...not mine...
Here's exactly what these two teams need to stay in the playoff race. Spoiler alert: A win today would help both teams a long way...
Travis Kelce makes Thanksgiving debut
Despite his long resume, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has never played on Thanksgiving until now. At age 36, he remains Kansas City’s top receiver (674 yards) and is on pace to become the oldest tight end ever with a 1,000-yard season. He thrives under big-game lights, setting him up for a potentially major role in today's game against the Cowboys.
The Cowboys will be making their 58th Thanksgiving Day appearance. Here's how they've fared over the last six decades.
"Two teams today, fighting for their tomorrow..."
GET HYPED!
Texas native and lifelong Cowboys fan Post Malone will headline the halftime performance as part of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff. With numerous major music awards and a history of performing at NFL events, he joins an elite list of Cowboys Thanksgiving performers, from Reba McEntire to Destiny’s Child to the Jonas Brothers.
Let's talk about George Pickens
In the offseason, the Cowboys added wide receiver George Pickens, and he has gone on to become one of the best additions in the league.
He ranks second in receiving yards (1,054) and is posting the most receiving yards ever through 11 games in a Cowboys debut season. After a dominant Week 12 performance, he’s becoming a weekly highlight machine, drawing comparisons to early-career Randy Moss. Kansas City will also have to deal with CeeDee Lamb on the opposite side, making Pickens even tougher to contain.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes returns to his home state for his first NFL start at AT&T Stadium. A lifelong Cowboys fan from Tyler, Texas, Mahomes put up incrediblenumbers in his three college appearances at the stadium, averaging 500+ passing yards and five touchdowns per game.
Serious playoff implications...
Both the Cowboys (5-5-1) and Chiefs (6-5) are currently sitting just outside the playoff picture as the No. 10 seeds in their conferences. Each is coming off a massive comeback win, but both still need help to stay alive in the race. A win would boost postseason chances, while a loss, especially for Dallas, could be costly. Kansas City has the most at stake, with multiple long-running streaks (10 straight playoff berths, seven straight AFC title games, three straight Super Bowls) at risk of being spoiled.
Hello and a very happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!! I am so excited to be bringing you the LIVE coverage of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs today!
You're going to want to save that turkey and mashed tater coma for after this game because it is set to be one of the most highly anticipated regular-season games in years...a showdown between past and present NFL dynasties.
Patrick Mahomes returns to his home state, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb lead a desperate Cowboys squad, and both teams enter fighting to stay in the playoff race after dramatic comeback wins last week. With Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, Dak Prescott, Andy Reid, and Jerry Jones all in the spotlight, plus a Post Malone halftime show, this Thanksgiving matchup has something for everyone.
So stay tuned because we are going to be here from before kickoff, all throughout the game, and up to the final whistle bringing you the latest updates, stats, highlights, scores, and commentary! Heeere we gooooo!
