Hello and welcome to our preview and live minute-by-minute coverage of Sevilla vs Leicester City in the first leg of the 2016/17 Champions League last 16, with kick-off at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán at 20:45 CET on Wednesday 22 February.
Sevilla vs Leicester City: match preview
LaLiga high-flyers host Premier League strugglers in Andalusia, as Claudio Ranieri's relegation-threatened team visit a Sevilla outfit enjoying a fine season under Jorge Sampaoli.
Sevilla come into the Champions League's first knockout stage up in third in LaLiga, two points behind a second-placed Barcelona side whose dugout the highly-rated Sampaoli is now being linked with.
The Europa League holders welcome Leicester to Seville fresh from a second league triumph in a row, at home to Eibar - and it's fair to say that the Foxes face a tough away assignment.
Saturday's victory means Sevilla have now won 12 out of 16 LaLiga, Copa del Rey and Champions League games at the Sánchez-Pizjuán in the current campaign, with Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid among the clubs to leave the ground empty-handed.
Indeed, the men from southern Spain have tasted defeat just the twice on their own patch in that time - those losses coming against Barcelona and Juventus.
And defender Mariano Ferreira has stressed the importance of bringing their strength at their own ground to bear on the tie, calling on his side to "make the most of home advantage [in the first leg] to take a lead into the return."
Sevilla feature familiar faces for Premier League fans in Steven N'Zonzi and Samir Nasri - both of whom have been fantastic this term - as well as January arrival Stevan Jovetic, who continued a fine start to life in LaLiga by setting up both goals at the weekend.
Last year's English champions are enduring a disastrous title defence - so much so that they sit just one point above the Premier League drop zone and are flirting with a piece of unwanted history.
Should Leicester complete a single-season slump from Champions League to Championship, they'd be the first club in England to follow league glory with top-flight relegation since Manchester City way back in 1938.
A final-matchday thrashing by Porto aside, however, Leicester have saved their best form for Europe's elite club competition, topping Group G with a game to spare.
But there can be little disputing that, despite being the group winners in this last-16 tie, Leicester approach their clash with Sevilla as the clear underdogs.
