START OF FIRST HALF

Bet on Borussia Dortmund v Benfica now!

Remember Kostas Mitroglou? He may have flopped at Fulham, but he's in fine form now. The Greek is at 10/1 to open the scoring.

Borussia Dortmund v Benfica odds

Player to watch: Victor Lindelöf: The mean-faced Swede has attracted interest from Manchester United following his performance in Portugal over the last couple of years. He blesses Benfica's rear-guard with a maturity the belies his 22 years.

Benfica will have to battle the curse of Bela Guttman in order to win the competition. Guttman guided the Portuguese giants to European glory in 1962, with a victory over Real Madrid in the final. After the club denied his subsequent request for a pay rise, he cursed the club with 100 years of European drought. Since then, they have lost eight consecutive European finals.

Like Dortmund, Benfica have won three from three since the first leg of the tie. Their rich vein of form places them at the top of the table, although FC Porto are hot on their heels, just one point behind.

Benfica

Player to watch: Julian Weigl: The 21-year old German has cemented his place in the Dortmund side this season. An efficient user of the ball, he has won plaudits including Toni Kroos.

Thomas Tuchel's side were free-scoring in the Group Stages, netting 21 times. They will need to rediscover that form tonight without influential playmaker Marco Reus, who is ruled out with a hamstring injury. Mario Götze is also injured.

Dortmund thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 6-2 in their last outing. It proved to be one poor result too many for Leverkusen manager Roger Schmidt, who was given his marching orders after the match.

Since their defeat at the Stadium of Light in the first leg, Dortmund have been in fine form. The men in yellow have taken nine points from their subsequent three Bundesliga matches, scoring 12 in the process, and conceding just two.

Borussia Dortmund

The tie remains finely poised as Benfica travel to the Westfalenstadion with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg. Borussia Dortmund, in fine domestic form and willed on by the din of the Yellow Wall, will be hopeful of turning it around.
