Goals from substitutes Nicolas N'Koulou and Vincent Aboubakar saw Cameroon stage a second-half comeback to clinch the fifth Africa Cup of Nations title in their history, in the process handing Egypt their first defeat at the tournament finals since way back in 2004. The Pharoahs - whose coach, Héctor Cúper, who is again on the losing side in the final of a competition - had looked in control when they took a first-half lead into the break courtesy of Mohamed Eleneny's 22nd-minute strike. However, it proved to be truly a game of two halves as the Egyptians were overwhelmed by a dominant Cameroonian display in the second 45 and were denied an unprecedented eighth African crown. In the end, Hugo Broos' Indomitable Lions fully merited their 2-1 win, claimed thanks to N'Koulou's header on the hour mark - followed by a wonderful late solo winner from Aboubakar.  Thanks for reading, hope you've enjoyed the final.

Peeep peeep peep! That's it! Cameroon have come from behind to beat Egypt and claim their fifth African title!

93' Zoua is off for Cameroon, Georges Mandjeck comes on, while Bassogog is stretchered off with the three minutes already up. 93'  This must be over.

90' Three minutes of stoppage time between Cameroon and a fifth Africa Cup of Nations title.

89' Cameroon burst forward and could plunder a third, before Egypt clear, race down the other end and win a free-kick, with defender Collins Fai booked... But Elneny sclafs his set-piece effort well over.

88'  ' Gooooal to Cameroon! That must be the winner, and what a winner! Siani sends it long to Aboubakar, who's surrounded by three red shirts on the edge of the box - but that doesn't matter. With his first touch he chests it down, with his second he clips it over Gabr, and with his third he volleys it across El Hadary and into the far corner! Stunning effort!

Escudo EgiptoEgipto1Escudo CamerúnCamerún2

82' Egypt win a free-kick in the left-hand channel, which El Said will swing in - but he doesn't beat the first man. He loops the ball back into the mixer, but the flag is up. Cameroon still look much the more likely winners, and the fans in the ground know it - the decibel levels have gone up a notch in the Stade de l'Amitie since N'Koulou's leveller.

80' Warda is down for Egypt with what looks like cramp, Cameroon sportingly putting it out so he can receive treatment. Moments later, Cameroon have it in the net but it's not going to stand - the ball had run out before Aboubakar cut it back.

78' And within a minute there's another chance for Broos' men! Bassogog plays it low across the box to find  Moukandjo in acres of space at the back stick - but he blazes it over!

76' Egypt bring it forward, but suddenly Cameroon nick it back and have a three-on-four break! Zoua charges at the Pharaohs' defence with options either side of him, but sees the headlines and goes it alone - and his low shot fails to trouble El Hadary.

71' Moukandjo flights a ball into the box and Hegazi makes a horrendous hash of his clearance, sending it out for another Cameroon corner. Egypt get it away, but if things keep going this way you'd have to say that there's only side who are going to win this.

69' Egypt are rocking. Aboubakar picks it up and runs at the defence, throwing in a few Denilson-eque stepovers too, before the men in red desperately get it out for a corner, which El Hadary eventually gathers.

67' Zoua tumbles 15 yards or so outside of the box, and Cameroon have another opportunity to swing it in. In it comes, and Hegazi gets a head to it and turns out it for a corner, which N'Koulou gets his head to - but it's off target!

Egypt make their first change, Trezeguet coming off for Stoke City's Ramadan Sobhy.

64' Cameroon have their tails up - one shot is blocked, before Fai pings it low towards goal and Aboubakar gets his foot to it, but it trundles out.

60' So, for the first time since the mid-noughties, we've seen both sides score in the Afcon final!

58' The corner is worked to Benjamin Moukandjo on the left, who sends an inswinging cross from the corner of the box into the area - and substitute N'Koulou rises highest to head in past El Hadary! All square in Libreville, where the predominantly Cameroonian crowd goes bonkers.

Escudo EgiptoEgipto1Escudo CamerúnCamerún1

57' ...which, eventually, is scrambled clear by Cameroon, who come again at Egypt, winning a corner on the left, and...

56' Cameroon cross once more, but again the service isn't going to be troubling the Egypt backline - and Cúper's men break quickly, Salah scuttling down the right wing and winning a dangerous free-kick on the right.

54' Now Oyongo swings in a cross for Cameroon, but there aren't enough green shirts in there and it's out for a goal kick.

50' Bassogog goes tumbling down under Trezeguet's challenge on the right wing, and it's an opportunity for Hugo Broos' men to swing it into the danger area. The delivery is poor, though, and Egypt put it out for a corner before clearing.

48' The first sight of goal of the half goes to Egypt, as Cameroon's Ambroise Oyongo gets his defensive header all wrong and it drops right to El Said, who skews his attempt wide.

There was a half-time change for Cameroon, with attacker Vincent Aboubakar coming on for Robert Tambe.

46' Peeeeep! The second half gets underway!

As the teams prepare to come out for the second half, here are the stats from the first 45 - plenty of possession for Cameroon, but it's the Egyptians who've shown the greater cutting edge...
Roma were happy with Salah's role in Elneny's goal...

Cameroon saw plenty of the ball during the first 45 at the Stade de l'Amitie, but - save for the odd speculative effort and a minor flap from El Hadary in the Egypt goal - did precious little with it. Egypt have created the better chances, following up Salah's excellent early chance with a well-worked (if a little ropily defended) strike from Elneny midway through the half. As it stands, the Pharaohs are heading for an unprecedented eighth Cup of Nations title, with Cameroon's 15-year wait for continental glory going on.

Escudo EgiptoEgipto1Escudo CamerúnCamerún0

45' Peeeeeep! That's half time in Libreville.

45' One minute of added time.

42' Cameroon come again, but Egypt's backline appear pretty comfrotable. Salah is then almost in on the break, but Ondoa is off his line swiftly to clutch hold off the through ball before the Roma man can get to it.

40' As things stand, Cúper's final jinx is coming to an end, and Egypt are on their way to an eighth title.

39' It's been mainly Cameroon's ball for the past few minutes, with Egypt looking happy to sit on their lead for the moment and play their counter-attacking game. The men in green are yet to really create a proper chance in front of goal, though.

37' The Indomitable Lions then earn themselves a free-kick in the right-hand channel, in prime get-it-into-the-mixer territory - but Egypt clear.

36' Cameroon look to have settled back down after a bad few mid-half minutes, winning themselves a corner that Jacques Zoua heads wide.

33' El Hadary has an utter mare with a high ball into the box, flapping at it dreadfully and succeeding only in plopping it at the feet of Bassagog at the back of the box. The attacker quickly whips it out of his feet and looks to curl it back across the keeper into the far corner, but he's off target. A let-off for Héctor Cúper's men there.

30' Cameroon have been forced into a change: Adolphe Teikeu is in trouble and can't carry on, and is replaced by Nicolas N'Koulou.

26' Still, who's complaining? (Except the Cameroonians, obviously.) It's been 11 years since we had a final with more than the one goal, and at this rate we might just see that barren run end.

23' For a final billed as a battle of tight defences, that was a horrendously easy opening goal. Egypt just waltzed through Cameroon's backline.

Egypt take the lead! They'd created the game's only real chance so far, and now they've gone one better by grabbing the opener! From the right touchline, Amr Warda touches it inside to Salah for the Roma winger to slip a neat little ball into Mohamed Elneny's run into acres of space just inside the box. The Arsenal midfielder then has time to take it forward and beat Ondoa high at the near post!

Escudo EgiptoEgipto1Escudo CamerúnCamerún0

13' Fresh from his clinching strike in the last four against Ghana, Bassogog doesn't need a second invitation to shoot - he gets it out of his body and thumps it towards goal from range, but it's well over.

11' Tarek Hamed knocks a searching long ball for the run of Salah on the right, but it's overhit and the former Chelsea man won't be catching that.

7' Semi-final shoot-out hero El Hadary, of course, would earn a record fifth Cup of Nations winner's medal were Egypt to triumph tonight - the 44-year-old was also involved back in 1998, when the Pharaohs saw off South Arica.

6' There's a first shooting chance for Cameroon, . Good work from Christian Bassogog to win possesion on the Egyptian byline, and he lays the ball back to Sebastian Siani ten yards or so outside of the box. The Oostende midfielder looks to wrap his foot around it - but it's comfortable for Egypt custodian Essam El Hadary.

2' Well, well, well! Egypt almost make a dream start, Mohamed Salah touching Abdalla El Said into shooting space inside the box with a cushioned first-time ball, but the Al Ahly man's angled effort is too close to keeper Fabrice Ondoa!

1'  Peeeeeeeep! We're underway in Libreville!

Anthems done, coin-toss done, it's time to go!

And neither side's 2017 Afcon record bodes well for a goal-tastic night, either, as it really is a battle of mean defences and low-scoring attacks: Egypt have netted four and conceded one, Cameroon five and two.

For those of you hoping for goals galore this evening, look away now: in the last six finals, there have been a total of three - yes, three - goals. You have to go back to Tunisia's 2-1 win over Morocco to find the last game with more than a solitary strike.

Five minutes to go in Libreville, and the teams are out and lined up, and ready for some anthem-tastic action.

Here's more from Broos.

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos, meanwhile, was full of praise for his unfancied side, who saw several big-name players make themselves unavailable for the tournament, saying: "In the 29 years I've been a coach I've never worked with a group like this. It's a fantastic group of players both on and off the field and they deserve the final."

The teams are in the tunnel! Focused faces all round.

Here's what Cúper had to say ahead of tonight's match

...followed by: the Cup Winners’ Cup the next season (also with Mallorca), the  Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001 (with Valencia) and the 2011 Greek Cup final (with Aris Thessaloniki). Gulp.

Egypt's former Valencia and Internazionale coach Héctor Cúper takes the Pharaohs into this evening's trophy decider - his first in international football - on the back of a horrendous run in club finals: the Argentine has lost five in a row, going back to defeat in the 1998 Copa del Rey with Real Mallorca...

Tonight is the teams' 10th Africa Cup of Nations meeting, with Egypt currently leading 4-3 (with the sides' two draws also producing one penalty shootout win for the Pharaohs). Two of those match-ups have come in the final of the competition, with victory for Egypt in 1986 and 2008.

Egypt haven't lost a Cup of Nations finals match since way back in 2004 - a 2-1 group-stage defeat to Algeria. That's a 24-game unbeaten streak at the tournament proper...

Journalist Jonathan Wilson on the dominance of Cameroon fans at tonight's final venue:

Cameroon, meanwhile, are after a first Afcon title since 2002, having lost to Egypt nine years ago in their only appearance in  the final since then.

Egypt are out to regain a title they last won in seven years ago - and in the process make it four trophy wins in a row at Cup of Nations finals that they've been at: after a hat-trick of triumphs in 2006, 2008 and 2010, they failed to even qualify in 2012, 2013 and 2015 - now that's a see-saw record if ever I've seen one...

And the teams are in!

With a large Cameroonian population in Gabon and busloads of fans also arriving from the neighbouring country, Egypt's supporters are expected to be greatly outnumbered at the Stade de l'Amitie tonight

There's an hour to go until kick-off in Libreville, where two of the Africa Cup of Nations' most successful sides face off for the title: Four-time winners Cameroon have a tournament trophy haul bettered only by opponents Egypt, who have triumphed on a record seven occasions

The 28 year old striker is one of the team's talismans and if he's on fire against Egypt Cameroon could well be celebrating long into Sunday night and Monday morning.

Cameroon man to watch: Benjamin Moukandjo.

Cameroon come into the final after a solid win over Ghana (2-0). Egypt's rivals are also tight at the back, and Sevilla Atlético keeper Fabrice Ondoa is proving to have a safe pair of hands.

Cameroon team news

The striker scored the two goals that saw his team get through against Ghana and Burkina Faso.

Egypt man to watch: Mohamad Saleh.

That said, they struggle up front, having a miserly total of four goals at this edition of the Africa Cup of Nations. They'll be hoping star player Roma Mohamad Salah can turn on the style against Cameroon.

Egypt have been solid throughout the tournament. Since Cúper took over they've won 20 out of 28 matches, with defensive solidity being their calling card, led by their keeper. Essam el Hedary secured their passage to the final, stopping two penalties against Burkina Faso, and prior to that match Egypt hadn't conceded a single goal in the tournament.
