And away we go!

We're now off and running as we prepare to discover which of these teams from the U.S.A., Canada, Central American and the Caribbean will be facing off against each other. Of course, what we really mean is who gets to play against Inter Miami and Leo Messi!

Jokes aside, we're in for an exciting draw. While the boys in pink will be gunning to prove they are more than Messi, there is more than enough quality in this Cup to please any neutral and then some. So, away we go!

Here's the break down of exactly how the draw will work on Wednesday night.

Paul Rudder

It's an important night for soccer in the western hemisphere and with that, we'd like to welcome you to our coverage here on AS USA of the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup draw. Starting at 7:00 p.m. ET, we will be taking you through the draw as we find out where all 32 teams will be placed as they prepare to compete for the region's top club honors.

To be clear, we're talking about the premier club competition in CONCACAF i.e., the FIFA region that covers North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Yes, this is the same tournament that was known as “Concacaf Champions League” up until last year. To that end, you can expect to here a lot of fans using that term as the tournament progresses. Indeed, the streets will never forget.

Where history is concerned, it might surprise some of you to know that only one MLS club has ever won the Cup in its modern iteration; the Seattle Sounders in 2022. On the other hand, we should mention that both D.C. United (1998) and L.A. Galaxy (2000) won the Cup in its earlier format.

Across the last decade, the MLS has seen its sides do better, with Real Salt Lake, CF Montréal, Toronto FC, Seattle Sounders, and LAFC (x2) all making it to the final. This of course brings us to the present where we have 27 teams that will be competing in the 2024 edition of the tournament. So with no further ado, let's get into it!
