2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup offers double FIFA bonanza date
The 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup winner will qualify for the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup and will also be one of the region’s four representatives in the 32-club 2025 Club World Cup.
The 59th edition of the revamped Concacaf Champions Cup starts next week and now includes 27 of the best clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean with five rounds to be played ahead of June’s single game final.
The tournament will kick off on 6 February with eleven Round One matchups that will see the likes of Club America, Chivas, Tigres UANL, Nashville SC, Houston Dynamo and Orlando City start their involvement in the campaign.
Leagues Cup winners Inter Miami and 2023 MLS Cup winners Columbus Crew get a bye into the second round and will play their two legged games in March.
FIFA double date awaits the winners
The 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup winner will qualify for both the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup (the newly named annual FIFA club competition and will also join previous winners Club Leon (2023), Seattle Sounders FC (2022), and CF Monterrey (2021) as the region’s four representatives in the 32-club expanded FIFA Club World Cup which will be staged in the United States in 2025.
