33 Liga MX stars currently on international duty
Thirteen Liga MX clubs have players in action during the latest FIFA window with nine Club América players alone on international duty.
Thirty three Liga MX players have been called up play for national sides as part of the current FIFA window. With many international teams involved in Conmebol qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, European teams are battling for places at the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament and 2026 hosts Canada, Mexico and the US involved in friendly games.
A total of 13 Liga MX clubs have contributed at least one player to the squad for this FIFA window with Club America having the most call-ups with a total of nine players.
For the friendly matches of the Mexican national team, head coach Jaime Lozano called up 15 players from the domestic Mexican league, with América and Rayados contributing the most to the El Tri with four players a piece.
CONMEBOL qualifiers
South American teams will play in both matchdays three and four of the 2026 qualification process and as part of this window and eight Mexican clubs have 15 players on duty with Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay and Peru being the teams with the highest CONMEBOL representation with with three players from each club on duty.
Andrea Vukcevic of FC Juárez was called up by Montenegro to face Lebanon in a friendly and Serbia in the qualifiers for Euro 2024 on 12 and 17 October, respectively.
In terms of CONCACAF national teams, Alejandro Zendejas is in the United States squad and Edgar Yoel Bárcenas is in the Panama squad.
