Both the Sevilla FC and Roma expeditions are Budapest bound and on Tuesday evening both head coaches Mendilibar and Mourinho will speak to the media as kick-off to the showpiece final gets closer.

Both Sevilla and Roma squads will undergo a light training session at the venue for the final as the Spanish side have a record seventh title in their sights with Roma no strangers to lifting the trophy as they eye a fourth win.

The Puskás Aréna

The national stadium in the heart of Budapest was officially inaugurated in November 2019 as Hungary faced Uruguay in a friendly game. The national side play all home games at the Puskás as well as the stadium being used to host the annual Hungarian Cup finals.

In 2017, the entire old stadium was demolished to make way for this new and revamped stadium with the venue named after Ferenc Puskás, the legendary former Hungary captain and Real Madrid great.

The ground has a 67,000 capacity and has staged a host of high profile UEFA games since its 2019 opening, most notably being the 2020 UEFA Super Cup between Bayern Munich and Sevilla, which the Bundesliga side won 2-1 after extra time.

The stadium was also selected for Euro 2020, which eventually was played in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and saw Hungary, France and Portugal all playing twice in Budapest. The venue also hosted a round of 16 clash that saw the Czech Republic defeat the Netherlands by two goals to nil in the round of 16.

Additionally, four Champions League knockout games were played at the stadium in 2020-21, when the pandemic forced UEFA to move several matches to different countries due to restrictions on entering certain others. Liverpool twice defeated RB Leipzig 2-0 in Budapest, while Manchester City twice beat Borussia Mönchengladbach there by the same scoreline.
