AC Milan in talks over move for USMNT and Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah
Milan continue their recruitment drive ahead of the 2023-24 Serie A season and have two USMNT players on their radar.
AC Milan are in talks to sign Valencia and USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah.
Musah came close to leaving Los Che in January and Milan have opened talks with the LaLiga club after completing the signing of fellow midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea.
Milan, who finished fourth in Serie A last season, are expected to offer a fee in the region of €20 million to sign the 20-year-old.
The versatile midfielder has played 24 games with the USMNT and featured at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The former Arsenal man played 37 games in all competitions for Valencia in 2022-23, scoring two goals from midfield.
Milan owners
AC Milan are owned by American private investment firm RedBird Capital, with Gerry Cardinale, the founder of the firm, taking over last summer.
The club recently parted ways with Italian football legend Paolo Maldini, who was in charge of transfers at San Siro up until last month.
Premier League interest
In an ideal scenario, Valencia would like to sell Musah as quickly as possible in order to start rebuilding their squad for the upcoming LaLiga season.
Musah, on the other hand, is grateful for the role the club has played in his career to date and will not force a transfer, but a move from Mestalla is expected.
West Ham have also shown interest and asked the player’s agent about the conditions under which he would leave in the coming weeks.
In talks for Pulisic
Milan are also in talks with Chelsea for fellow USMNT player Christian Pulisic over a summer move.
