Edson Álvarez has adapted well to the Eredivisie since joining Ajax in the summer of 2019 from Club América. The Mexican international has been improving season-after-season and has become a key player under outgoing manager Erik ten Hag.

Álvarez on radar of several clubs

Álvarez has helped Ajax win a total of four titles, including three league trophies, and his performances are being closely watched by several teams. With the news that Ten Hag will take over the managerial job at Manchester United next season, Álvarez has been linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.

Álvarez has thrived as a holding midfielder at Ajax and that is a position that is currently vacant at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old has often been linked with a move to the Premier League but AC Milan have also entered the race.

According to Calciomercato, a representative of AC Milan watched Ajax’s last two league games to evaluate players including Álvarez. However, Ajax will not sell lightly and any club interested in signing the 24-year-old will be expected to offer a sum of around €20 million for the Eredivisie side to consider letting him go.
