Alarm bells with Mbappé subbed as a ‘precaution’

According to RMC, the reason for his substitution five minutes from the end of the Ligue 1 clash was due to a “hamstring tweak”.

Ligue 1 leaders PSG were made to dig deep to secure a 1-2 win away at Lorient with Danilo bagging an 81st winner for PSG.

PSG coach Christophe Galtier was without Leo Messi for this match with the Argentine being rested as a precautionary measure with the World Cup getting underway in a fortnight.

Neymar put PSG ahead in the ninth minute before Moffi brought the home side level in the second half. Neymar assisted in the winner with Danilo securing maximum points late on for the Parisian giants who have a commanding stranglehold at the top of the Ligue 1 table and they now hold a five point advantage over second placed RC Lens.

The moment of concern came in the final minutes of the game when Kylian Mbappe was subbed with RMC later claiming that the player was complaining of a tweak in his hamstring and the switch was agreed between the player and club medic as a precautionary measure.

PSG boss Galtier later claimed at the post game that “it’s nothing serious.” France already have Paul Pogba and Kanté sidelined for the Qatar World Cup with Man United’s Varane another serious doubt. “It’s nothing serious ass Kylian has put in a decent shift and plenty has been demanded of him, it is much better to ask to leave the game than to run the risk of staying on the field, or being on the field without being able to do it 100%”, explained the PSG coach post game.
