Alex Morgan leads the way in 2024 NWSL jersey sales
Three San Diego Wave players made the top five with Morgan featuring alongside Naomi Grima and Jaedyn Shaw.
Despite calling time on her glittering career earlier this year, former USWNT and San Diego Wave striker Alex Morgan leads the way when it comes to best selling NWSL jerseys for the the 2024 season.
The 35-year-old was one of three San Diego players to rank in the top five, where she was joined by Naomi Girma (No. 4) and Jaedyn Shaw (No. 5) despite the Wave failing to make a place in the postseason.
Kansas City Current striker Temwa Chawinga, who bagged a record 20 NWSL goals last season came second in the overall ranking with beaten NWSL Championship finalist Washington Spirit’s Trinity Rodman completing the podium in third place.
The ranking is based on sales from multiple retail outlets, official club stores and the retail arm of the NWSL.
KC Current lead the way
Despite losing in the semi-final to eventual champions Orlando, the season saw the Current open their own bespoke soccer stadium. The 11,500 capacity CPKC Stadium hosted the NWSL final and boasts its own retail complex which may have helped in seeing five Kansas City players feature in the Top 25. Lo’eau LaBonta ranked 7th, Debinha at tenth, Claire Hutton at 18th and Michelle Cooper featured at 19th in the ranking.
Brazilian icon Marta was the highest ranked Orlando Spirit with the striker featuring at 17th place in the Top 25.
