The letter, written in Spanish, begins: “Dear Joanna. I am writing to give you my support and my prayers. I like to pray and I pray a lot for you and your mom. I also recently lost my father to a tumor. I loved seeing you dance with your mother and cheer her up during the little time she had left. I have suffered a lot for what you are going though, I don’t understand why - perhaps because I have been through similar circumstances myself. I wanted to tell you that you are not alone. Your mother accompanies you and her spirit guides you. Please don’t feel alone because you are not. Life is wonderful and you have just begun it. I am sure that you will overcome the difficulty that God has presented to you and you will find yourself happy and resplendent on the other side of the tunnel”.

Joana showed her appreciation with a reply: “I don’t know who you are, but thank you infinitely for your words. I wish people would write letters to each other more often. We have lost this beautiful custom with technology. Thank you again for so much support,’’ the model wrote.

“I feel alone”

This weekend, Joana shared a post to remember the figure of her mother, who passed away a month ago. The model reported that she feels “alone” and that she needs a show of affection at this time. “A month ago today, I had to make the most difficult decision of my life; to let you go. I still have the feeling that, when I get home, you’re going to welcome me with enthusiasm (...) I need to feel your embrace so much, to see you laugh or dance... I need your joy (...) And sometimes, it breaks me into a thousand pieces. I feel lonely, you know?” she wrote.
