Chivas returned from Spain on Tuesday, after a mini tour that included two games, one ending with a win over Getafe (1-0) and a loss against Athletic Bilbao (2-0). Early in the morning, the squad landed back in the city of Guadalajara. The owner of the team, Amaury Vergara, was questioned about the stories that point to a swap with Grupo Pachuca.

He refused to confirm that the Rebaño Sagrado would be reinforced with Víctor el “Pocho” Guzmán, while “Canelo” Jesús Ricardo Angulo would go to Grupo Pachuca in the deal, placing him in León, where he would be under the command of Nicolas Larcamon. The only thing that the rojiblanco leader confirmed for us was that work is being done with the plan to have a positive tournament.

“Well, we’re very happy about the friendly match [in Bilbao]. I’m not going to answer anything right now [on transfers]. Right now I will not be able to answer any questions, at another time with pleasure. Later in the week I meet you with great pleasure. Right now we’re a little tired,” he stated when approached by the press who was waiting for the team at the Miguel Hidalgo International Airport in Guadalajara.

And he did not want to confirm the exchange with Grupo Pachuca. “We are preparing for the next tournament, is all I can say right now. All I can tell you is that we’re still preparing for the next tournament. We’re going to have a good tournament. That is all. At the moment I can’t say anything about any transfer, any operation.

“I’m sorry, I would like to, but right now I can’t say anything.”

Sources close to the Chivas board say that Víctor Guzmán is very close to becoming a footballer for Rebaño Sagrado, regardless of whether or not the transfer of Jesús Ricardo Angulo to Grupo Pachuca is completed. Three years ago, Pocho was signed by Guadalajara but the operation fell through when the doping case became known.
