América and Pachuca set for Liga MX Femenil showdown

For the first time in the history of Liga MX Femenil, America’s Águilas will face Pachuca’s Tuzas in the final.

We now know the two finalists of the Liga MX Femenil and for the first time in history, the Águilas del América will face the Tuzas del Pachuca in a two legged tie to decide the winner of the 2023 Clausura. America have one title to their name bagging the 2018 Clausura with Pachuca looking for their first ever Liga MX win.

The Águilas del América, who finished the regular season in third place, defeated Tigres 2-0 on aggregate and sealed their passport to the final with Alison González giving the Coapa based side victory at the Azteca stadium. In the second leg at the Universitario, Casandra Cuevas was on target to seal another one nil win.

Tuzas advance

In another low scoring semi-final, Pachuca overcame the Rayadas de Monterrey with a 0-1 aggregate win and now take their place in the third final of their history.

In the 81st minute of the tie, Charlyn Corral slipped the ball through to Viridiana Salazar, who slotted home to silence the more than 13,000 fans at the Estadio BBVA.

When will the final be played?

The Liga MX Femenil finals will be played between Friday and Monday with the first leg set to take place at the Hidalgo stadium on Friday, 2 June and the return leg to be staged at the Estadio Azteca on Monday 5 June.
