América, Cruz Azul: all the teams who have qualified for the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup
Several Liga MX teams will be taking part in the second edition of the rebranded tournament, which will take place from February to June next year.
Cruz Azul secured a record-equalling seventh CONCACAF Champions Cup title with a 5-0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps at Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City on Sunday.
The Mexican side dominated from start to finish with Ignacio Rivero, Lorenzo Faravelli, Ángel Sepúlveda, and Mateusz Bogusz all finding the target in the first half, and Sepúlveda grabbing his second to round off a memorable win after the break.

With this year’s tournament now concluded, we are looking ahead to the next edition.
Six Liga MX teams have already secured their spots for the 2026 competition. Pumas UNAM, América, Monterrey, Toluca, Cruz Azul, and Tigres have qualified for the first phase of the tournament, which features top teams from across CONCACAF.

Cruz Azul’s triumph marks their first continental title since 2014. It also pulls them level with América as the teams with the most titles (7).
And as a bonus, it also means that La Máquina are the first team from the CONCACAF region to book a place at the 2029 Club World Cup. The confederation will have four teams at the event - including the winners of the next three editions of the Concachampions.
