América goalkeeper Luis Malagón set for Mexico call-up
The América goalkeeper could be called up by Diego Cocca.
The Mexico national team and Diego Cocca are preparing for the match against the United States on 19 April the coach of El Tri will only be able to call up players from Liga MX which will therefore give him the opportunity to call new faces into the national team squad. One of these new names could be Luis Malagón, the Club América shot-stopper.
According to TUDN, Malagón has caught Cocca’s eye, and the Argentinian tactician has him in his sights for the game against the United States.
Olympic bronze with Mexico
Malagón has experience with Mexico at underage level and is an Olympic bronze medallist as the goalkeeper was part of Lozano’s team that came third in Tokyo 2020. He is now looking for a chance with the senior national team. Malagón has started the last three games for América, keeping one clean sheet along the way.
