América pair suffer serious knee injuries in Juárez defeat
Victor Davila and Isaiah Violante left the game against Bravos de Juarez with serious injuries.

Club América’s rough start to the Clausura 2026 just got worse. On Wednesday night, after their 2–1 loss at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Matchday 9, the team confirmed that attackers Víctor Dávila and Isaías Violante suffered significant knee injuries.

Through its social media channels, América announced:
“Víctor Dávila suffered a torn ACL in his right knee. Isaías Violante has a medial collateral ligament injury in his right knee. Their recovery time will depend on their progress.”
Both players appeared to suffer unnatural movements in their right legs, and all signs point to upcoming surgery.

A season far below expectations
América has been far from its usual dominant self this season. Under Brazilian manager André Jardine, the team has struggled to find rhythm, and several of their reinforcements have yet to reach the expected level.
The numbers tell the story:
- 9th place in the Liga MX table
- 11 points (3 wins, 4 losses, 2 draws)
- 9 goals scored, 9 conceded
They’ll try to bounce back this Saturday when they visit Querétaro at Estadio La Corregidora for Matchday 10.
Adding to their concerns, América sits last in the league’s youth‑minutes table with only 543 minutes played so far.
Leagues Cup Rivals Revealed
On Thursday, América also learned its group opponents for the August edition of the Leagues Cup:
- San Diego FC
- Portland Timbers
- Austin FC
With injuries piling up and results lagging, the Coapa side faces a crucial stretch in the coming weeks.
