América pay tribute to Guillermo Ochoa
The Coapa-based club recognized its captain for being the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the entire history of the institution.
América recognised captain Guillermo Ochoa for becoming the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the club’s 105-year history. Prior to their game against Tigres at the Azteca stadium, the Eagles paid a small tribute to Ochoa, who was accompanied by his wife, children and parents.
The 0-1 win against Querétaro in Week 16 brought up 111 games in which Memo hasn’t conceded a goal, surpassing the previous mark of 110 set by Adrián Chávez.

In this Apertura 2022, in eleven games defending the América’s goal, Ochoa has kept six clean sheets. In last season’s Clausura 2022, Ochoa was the goalkeeper to have kept the opposition out in the most games during the regular phase.
Guillermo played all 17 games in the regular phase of that season - a total of 1,530 minutes played with 17 goals conceded. He managed to keep a clean sheet in eight games in total, becoming the goalkeeper with the best record of the campaign.
