América set sights on Mexican pearl Teun Wilke
The Azulcrema board have been impressed with young Mexican player Teun Wilke who spent last season on loan with Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Pro League.
Club América have their sights set on one of the best-performing Mexican players in European football, Teun Wilke. The 21-year-old, who was born in Querétaro, spent last season on loan with Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Pro League and the Eagles are hoping to repatriate him.
According to Kery News, the Azulcremas have already reached an agreement with Wilke. They go on to claim that a deal could go though in the next few days with the player undergoing a medical at the Coapa facilities by early next week.
Who is Teun Wilke?
The centre-forward started out in Querétaro’s youth academy before moving to the Netherlands to join Heerenveen. He was on the move again in 2021, joining Italian outfit S.P.A.L. In his first season, he scored 11 goals and was involved in another four in 29 appearances in the Primavera 1 and Primavera Coppa.
He is currently on loan with the Cercle Brugge in Belgium’s fourth tier and has been called up by Mexico at various youth levels. If his transfer materializes, Wilke‘s arrival would be an immediate response to the recent departure of Federico Viñas, who recently joined Club León. According to specialist site Transfermarkt, Wilke would arrive as a free agent after not renewing with the Italian club.
