Despite falling short in the Clausura 2025 final, Club América didn’t make many signings, believing the squad only needed minor adjustments. One of the new additions was Isaías Violante, who won the championship with Toluca last season.

Isaías Volante’s two reasons for joining América

In an interview with ESPN, the former Toluca midfielder said he joined the Eagles to get closer to the Mexican national team. “When they asked me if I wanted to come to América, I knew it was not just about eventually going to Europe, it’s also a great platform to get noticed by the national team,” he said.

“I believe that if I work hard and perform well here, I can establish myself and eventually achieve my dream of playing in Europe. Right now, being at América is a huge boost toward that goal, and it’s also a stepping stone to the national team, the dream of every kid. I’ve played in the youth squads, but of course, I want to represent Mexico at the senior level. I know that if I give my best here, I can make that happen,” he added.

So far this season, Violante has appeared in every match for the Azulcremas, though he’s only started once in six appearances. He hasn’t scored yet, but he’s played 158 minutes and has received one yellow card.
