América, the only Liga MX club still without a coach
The Eagles, who are scheduled to play their Apertura 2023 opener againt Juárez on 30 June, have struggled to find a new coach.
In Coapa, Club América staff are working against the clock. Fernando Ortíz’s departure has complicated the plans of the Azulcrema board of directors and with less than a month to go before the 2023 Apertura tournament begins, they still do not have a head coach.
Santiago Baños and company have not been able to close a new strategist and the refusals of several candidates, including Javier Aguirre, Ricardo Gareca and Diego Alonso have left the capital team in a bad light. In fact, América is the only club in Liga MX that does not have a DT for the new season.
