Ancelotti’s Real Madrid with a chance of winning a unique Sextuple

With the justified and deserved exception of Karim Benzema (the next Ballon d’Or I might add), Carlo Ancelotti has finished putting his his squad together for the season - a team that could go down in club history. Ahead, there is the challenge of achieving the first pure Sextuple in world football. Barça and Bayern are the only two clubs who have achieved it by accumulating six titles in a row over two seasons. But if Madrid can manage to win all six titles in play this season (Champions, LaLiga, UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, Club World Cup and Copa del Rey), they would achieve something which has never been done by any other elite football club in history. After clinching the Champions League in May and the League (the club’s 35th title), Madrid would complete an Octuple. It’s a tremendous challenge, almost impossible, but it’s worth going for it. Or at least try. Ancelotti has faith in a squad which has been reinforced well with Rüdiger and Tchouameni - two great signings.

The first day at work for the two newcomers served to survey the success of the summer purchases. Both are in perfect physical condition and were welcomed with open arms by their new team mates. Rüdiger, Kroos and Alaba speak the same language (German), while Touchameni will have support from Camavinga, Mendy, Karim, Hazard and Courtois (all French speakers). But the most important language of all is Ancelotti’s own brand of Esperanto - a football language which will unite 25 warriorsall fighting for the same cause: to make history again.
