A little less than a month ago, Pumas and Necaxa announced the dismissal of their respective head coaches, Andrés Lillini and Jaime Lozano, due to poor results in the Apertura 2022. Speculation immediately began about their future destinations, with rumours of a swap between the two clubs for their former coaches. Lillini has found employment again and will be in charge of Necaxa for the Clausura 2023.
Necaxa have not made an official statement announcing his arrival because Pumas have not paid Lillini his respective settlement. In May, the Argentine signed a contract renewal extending his deal until December 2023, but due to the early dismissal, the settlement must be made to terminate his contract. This has not yet happened, and therefore there has been no official agreement between Lillini and Necaxa.
Lozano and Necaxa in the same situation
Los Rayos are in the same predicament with their former coach, who also had a contract in place, but the Mexican outfit opted to dismiss him. At the time of writing, it is not known which team he will coach next.
