Antonela reveals the meaning of Leo Messi’s new superhero goal celebration
Messi’s wife took to Instagram and revealed the mystery behind the World Cup winner’s new goal celebration with Inter Miami.
Lionel Messi has hit the ground running with new club Inter Miami. After he bagged a late winner in his debut against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup, the striker hit a brace brace as part of the 4-0 win over Atlanta United in the second group game with the win securing the Herons passage into the Round of 32.
The captain of the Argentine national team has been surprising many with a new goal celebration as he holds out an arm and appears to be invoking some kind of super power.
What does Messi’s new celebration mean?
Antonela Roccuzzo came to the rescue in revealing why the man from Rosario has been making this particular gesture as part of his goal celebration and posted an Instagram story in which he shared the image of Messi and a sticker with the message “Thors day”.
So we can deduct that as part of Messi’s celebration, the striker is imitating the Marvel character Thor Odinson when he attracts Mjolnir, better known as a hammer, his characteristic weapon.
Inter Miami fans, however now have their very own new superhero in the shape of the 36-year-old Argentine.
