Barbadillo’s warning to Ángel Correa about inheriting his legendary number 7 shirt
The Peruvian will personally hand over is old number to “Angelito” at Tigres Stadium in a couple of weeks’ time.

The mystery of which squad number Ángel Correa will be assigned to at Tigres is finally over.
As reported by AS Mexico, the Argentine World Cup winner will inherit the legendary number 7, which for more than 40 years was retired in honor of former player Gerónimo Barbadillo. The Peruvian, now 70, asked Correa to take care of his old number, and trusts that it is in good hands.
“The number 7 means a lot to me. I’m not going to take it to the grave, it’s a memory of me and the fans who have supported me and who will always support me," Barbadillo explained in a video produced by the club’s media department.

Correa is worthy of the number 7 shirt
“I believe that Ángel Correa can do it, because of his quality and the football he plays. He has to take care of that shirt for me, because I know that you’re going to take care of it for me and you’re going to give this number 7 more motivation with your quality as a player”.
Patrulla will make an express trip in two weeks to the Sultana del Norte to consign the "passing of the torch" to Angelito.
“The only thing I can ask of the fans is that they continue supporting the Tigres. I’ll be there in a couple of weeks to personally hand over the number 7 at Tigres Stadium,” he concluded.
