Barça star: “I’d sign up for a Champions League final against Real Madrid”
Pedri spoke at his book launch: “Pedri and the Legend of the Golden Boots” and analyzed FC Barcelona’s currenatnt positive run of form.
Just over 16 hours after the Spanish national team qualified for the Nations League Final Four, Barça midfielder Pedri was at a central Barcelona bookstore to launch his children’s book, ‘Pedri and the Legend of the Golden Boots’.
The 22-year-old also fielded a series of questions from journalists and discussed the team’s strong vein of positive form with the Catalan giants in the hunt to add three titles (LaLiga, Copa del Rey and Champions League) to their Spanish Super Cup win earlier this season.
The Canary Islander stated: “I would rather win the treble than the Ballon d’Or. If the Ballon d’Or comes, then, great but I want it to come alongside the collective titles,” he told local media.
“Being nominated is a dream, but winning the trophies is more important to me. We are at a time where everything is at stake. You can lose three games and be out of the three competitions.”

The 22-year-old said it was important to meet the forthcoming challenges that lie ahead for the team head on and would look forward to a Champions League final against long standing rivals Real Madrid if they both made it to the Munich final in May.
“We must continue to perform well in these matches to get the best results. I would certainly welcome a Champions League final against Real Madrid, it would mean we made it.” he added. “You can’t be afraid of any opponent.”

Finally, he commented on the decision by the Spanish FA to schedule the postponed match against Osasuna for this Thursday: The 22-year-old stated: “It’s difficult to recover with less than 72 hours. You can always find another solution. With so many matches, football loses its level. We have to accept it, but it’s important to know that it’s better to have a higher recovery level. If the players aren’t at 100 percent, it’ll be worse.”
