Barcelona set low clause for Dembélé: 100 million euros
Barca, who have protected Pedri, Ansu and Raphinha with buy-out clauses of 1 billion euros, has set a low exit clause for Dembélé in line with his contract.
Ousmane Dembélé renewed his contract with Barça until 2024 on Thursday and Mateu Alemany has revealed the player’s buy-out fee - 100 million euros. A figure in line with the short contract he has signed, until June 2024, and far from the billion-euro clauses written into the contracts of players like Pedri, Ansu Fati and Raphinha.
Barcelona’s director of football explained that the process of renewing Dembélé's contract had been very simple: “I’m not in favor of discussing what went on during negotiations. Dembélé was coming to the end of his contract and there was a very big difference between what his agents understood and what we understood, that he had to adapt to Barça’s new salary policy. We kept our position and they kept theirs”.
