Update:

Barcelona have named their traveling squad for the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal against Atlético Madrid, with Hansi Flick unable to call upon three first-team stars, as expected.

Flick faces defensive reshuffle

The Barça coach’s main conundrum will be how to replace central defender Pau Cubarsí, who is suspended after being sent off in the 2-0 first-leg defeat at Spotify Camp Nou.

Jules Koundé or João Cancelo could be drafted in at right-back, which would allow Ronald Araújo to move into the center. Alternatively, Flick could opt to drop Eric García into defense and bring either Marc Casadó or Frenkie de Jong into midfield. However, it is unlikely the Dutchman will be thrown straight into the starting lineup after only just returning from a long layoff.

Squad boosted by Martín inclusion

Gerard Martín, who has partnered Cubarsí in central defense in recent games, is included in the squad after an injury scare that saw him replaced by Casadó at halftime in Saturday’s LaLiga win over Espanyol.

Marc Bernal has also traveled to Madrid, although a late decision will be made on his fitness. The midfielder has not played since suffering an ankle sprain in the first leg against Atlético.

Key absences remain

Raphinha, who is expected to be out until the end of the month with a hamstring problem, and Andreas Christensen, sidelined long term after partially tearing his ACL, are the only injury absentees.
