Bayern Munich regained their Bundesliga lead after a 2-0 home win over relegation threatened Hertha BCS thanks to the vision of Joshua Kimmich and goals from Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman.

Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 draw away to Bochum on Friday gave the Bavarians a golden opportunity to go top of the table as they faced struggling Hertha Berlin.

Hertha’s adopted a defensive approach to the contest and played for the bulk of the game with eleven players anchored deep inside their own half looking to hurt Bayern with occasional counter attacks.

The game plan for the side from the capital lasted exactly 69 minutes, before Bayern finally managed to break down the Berliner’s defensive wall as Serge Gnabry found the target with just ten minutes later Kingsley Coman doubling the lead for the Bavarian side.
